On March 22, Fair Oaks hosted a group of about 45 from Oak Hammock for the day. Linda Blondheim greeted the group of artists from Oak Hammock at the pavilion early in the morning with fresh coffee, lemonade and delicious pastries. The artists were painting “en plein air” for several hours. Plein air painting takes a special skill. Painting while the light is changing ever so quickly is always a challenge!

Around 11:00 am the bus from Oak Hammock arrived and the guests were invited to wander around Fair Oaks, rock on the porches, or play horseshoes, checkers and croquet.

At noon a barbeque lunch from Pearl Country Store & Barbecue was served. The meal was accompanied by the music of a band composed of UF Wesley Chapel students led by Shannon.

Shortly after lunch the first hayride rumbled down to the Wood & Swink / Old Post Office where Freddie launched into Evinston history. The second hayride went soon after.

Overall the day was successful with all guests enjoying their time at Fair Oaks.
