The Sunshine State has not been really living up to that name this summer. In fact, it has been an extraordinarily rainy summer this year with several straight weeks of rain and only a few sunny or dry patches thrown in. The ground was wet for long time and the mosquitos were absolutely out for the kill.

But thanks to the rains the Fair Oaks Ranch looks like a painting at this time of the year. The grass is greener than ever imaginable and some flowers are still in full fertile blossoming mode. It feels so fresh after the rain at Fair Oaks. It is perfect time for taking long walks and hitting things with a stick.

I’m sad to see summer go … but fall is one of my very favorite times of the year so bring on the hot cider and the cooler evenings!
